William Schick

William Bill C. Schick, age 85, of Temperance, Michigan passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Toledo Hospital. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 2, 1931 to Carl and Clara Schick. Bill was a graduate of Whitmer High School in 1950. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. Bill was a bricklayer for 40 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Bricklayer Union Local #3. Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parent, Carl and Clara Schick, spouses, Judith and June Schick, brother, Donald Schick and step-daughter, Beth Hedges, step daughter-in-law, Jane Gensler and brother-in-law, Robert Robbins. Bill is survived by his wife, Ruth Schick, sons, Greg Schick and David (Renee) Schick, step-children; Rusty (Diana) Gensler, David Gensler, Carrie Busby, Jeff (Lisa) Gensler, Maria Sprow and Matthew Sprow, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his siblings, Joan Robbins and Carol (Tom) Leppert. Friends and family may visit on Sunday, December 18 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd (419-473-1301). Funeral services will be in the funeral home at 10:00 am on Monday. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
