William H Blanton

William H. Blanton, age 91, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017 at his home. He was born on July 28, 1925 to William Henry and Grace Edna (Bratcher) Blanton in Toledo, Ohio. William proudly served his country in the United States Army before working at Brown Motor Sales for 50 years. He was a member Toledo Camera Club, Naturalist Camera Club, a Boy Scout Leader, and a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. William is preceded in death by his parents and grandchild, Wendy Coombs. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 70 years, Violet (Beehner) Blanton; children, Vicky Coombs, Bill Blanton; grandchildren, William Matthew (Melinda) Coombs, Eric (Linda) Blanton; great grandchildren, William James Coombs, Noah Eric Coombs, Amber Angel; great-great grandchild, Londyn Angel; siblings, Gertrude Daso, George Blanton, Harry Blanton; and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Road, Toledo, OH 43613 on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 5 PM 8 PM. On Tuesday, April 25, 2017 William will Lie in State at Our Savior Lutheran Church on Alexis Road from10 AM until the start of funeral services at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association or Our Savior Lutheran Church.
