Wanda Hawkins

Wanda Hawkins, age 78, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Toledo Hospital. She was born in Boise, Idaho on April 23, 1933 to Eugene and Lucretia Rathbone. Wanda was employed as a manager for several stores for 31 years. She volunteered at Lake Park and at her church, putting together hundreds of Thanksgiving Baskets for the needy and for funeral lunches. She loved doing her crafts with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 45 years, Ronald Hawkins Sr. and her 10 siblings. Wanda is survived by her loving children, Ruth Sherwood, Michael (Kathleen) Sherwood, Sharon Carder, Steven Hawkins, Katherine Mahoney, Rochele (Brent) Jackson, Ronald (Yvonne) Hawkins Jr., Franklin Hawkins, 17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren, sisters, Zelda Aitchison and Verona (Ed) Neufeld. Visitation for Wanda will be at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd. (at Alexis) 419-473-1301 on Sunday, October 16 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
