Wallace W. Ward

Wallace W. Ward, age 95 of Toledo, passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo Center. He was born in Conneaut, Ohio, then moved to Toledo. He married Bernice on July 10, 1941. He worked on the Great Lakes Freighters, then worked as a foreman at Toledo Edison. He was a veteran of World War II in the Navy Seabees. He participated in Senior Olympics in 1999.He attended Shelton Park Church of God in Temperance, MI. He enjoyed his family along with bowling, dog and horse races, casinos and sunshine! Wallace is survived by his children, Wallace Ward II, Alan (Bonnie) Ward and Rochelle (Donald) Douglas; grandchildren, Matthew Douglas, Julia Douglas, Alan (Brandi) Ward II, Amanda Ward, Daniel Ward; great-grandchildren, Chelsea Douglas, Logan Douglas, Samantha Douglas, Alan Ward III, Autumn Ward, Brendan Ward, Ava Ward, Brianna Ward, Aidan Ward; great-great grandchild, Zaylee Wentworth. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice; brother, Denis Ward, parents, Wallace Ward, Maude Bondy Ward Newton, Martha Ward; stepsister, Mona Taylor. Visitation will be at H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, (419-473-1301) 3219 Tremainsville Rd. Sunday, August 19 from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be Monday at 11:00 AM. Interment Toledo Memorial Park.
