Virginia Christine Jezak, 96, of Holland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born on May 6, 1927, in Toledo, Ohio, to her late parents, John and Teofilla (Kliemkewicz) Mierzejewski, where she grew up alongside her six siblings.
Lovingly known as a Virg, Virgie, and Grandma, Virginia was a sweet, loving woman who had an expanding and generous heart for others. She grew up attending St. Anthonys Catholic grade school where she later married the love of her life, Donald Jezak, sharing 63 beautiful years of marriage together. Virginia and Donald were tied at the hip and simply did everything together. They loved going to church and as parishioners of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, the pair loved volunteering at parish events, especially the annual parish festival. Virginia was truly a faith-filled woman and prayed her Rosary frequently, trusting in the power of prayer. She found great joy in being a leader of the Daughter’s of Mary Altar Rosary Society. She was also quite active in the American Legion Post and the Catholic War Veterans organization. She had a love for knitting and crocheting, famous for her afghans which she loved giving to all her children.
She will always be remembered for living an amazing, full life that was full of love and laughter. She was always there for a chat or even to offer a simple hug. She was so proud of her family and was the last one standing out of her entire generation. She had a soft demeanor yet gave great guidance and was always sure to take a true interest in others. She was one of the most special women her family ever knew, and will be so dearly missed and loved by all of those who knew her.
Virginia is survived by her daughters, Sherri (Chet) Thomas, Cindy (John) Snodgrass; grandchildren, Manya (Michael), Katie (Ben), Laura (Eric), Scott (Taylor), Kyle (Trina), Cody (Haley); great grandchildren, Everett, Eleanor, Isaac, Anna, Brynlee, Roman. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Jezak; grandson, Derek Thomas; and six siblings.
