Rose Long February 26, 1929 - October 20, 2018 Are there really Angels among us on Earth? What would you call a person, who at the age of 15, had to drop out of school to became the "Mom" of the house and help raise a younger brother and sister? What would you call a person, who spent almost two decades much later in her life, being the sole caregiver of a friend? What would you call a person who sometimes worked two and three jobs at a time to give her daughter and son the type of home she never had while growing up? What would you call someone who shoveled snow from neighbors' driveways and sidewalks just because it was "fun"? What would you call someone who was a self- appointed "taxi-driver" for friends, family members and just about anyone else that needed a ride? What would you call someone who always put her interests second to the interests of her family and friends? What would you call someone who always had a smile on her face and music in her heart, even as a horrible disease ended her time on earth? Wouldn't such a person be called an Angel? The family extends their gratitude to the nurses and aides at Darlington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Southern Care Hospice and The Alzheimers Association. Roses Family will receive guests Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home, 1163 W. Sylvania Ave., Toledo, Ohio (419-269-1111).
