Timothy L. Monroe

Timothy L. Monroe Sr., age 48, of Toledo, Ohio passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 3, 2009. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 14, 1961 to Jack and Monica (Scherer) Monroe. Tim was a long time member of St. Clement Catholic Church. He owned and operated Monroe Construction for 30 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan. Tims love for University of Michigan Football was well known, he even had the honor to serve as an usher for 17 years in the Big House.He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Monica (Scherer) Monroe and step-son Austin Cosenza. Tim is survived by his children, Jan (Ben) Scantling, Timothy Monroe Jr., grandchildren Brylie and Elijah Scantling, siblings Jack (Penny) Monroe, David (Brenda) Monroe, Mary Madrid, Patricia (Mike) Eichenberg, Thomas (Holly) Monroe, Catherine Savett , William (Ginger) Monroe, Robert Monroe and many loving nieces and nephews.Visitation will be in H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd, Toledo, Ohio (at Alexis) 419-473-1301 on Monday July 6 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm a scripture service will begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral services are on Tuesday July 7 beginning in the funeral home with prayers at 9:15 am to follow with Mass of the Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd. Interment to follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 East River Rd. Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
