Thomas L. Styer

Thomas L. Styer Sr. age 74 of Toledo, Ohio, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 29, 2013. He was born in Toledo on August 23,1939 to Wayne and Rita Styer. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Tom grew up and lived in the Trilby area. He was employed at DeVilbiss for 18 years until they closed, then was employed at Vin Devers for 10 years until his retirement in 2003. Tom was a member and active with V.F.W. post, American Legion post #587, Conn Weissenberger #2014 and Moose Lodge, in Sylvania, Ohio where he volunteered at the fish fry every Friday night. He also was a member at Southern Michigan Sports Club. Tom never met a stranger! He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Helen Farris and son, Todd Styer. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Sandi Styer, devoted children, Andrea (Achim) Roth, Tina (David) Duquette, Terri Johnson, Tanya Styer, Thomas (Sherry) Styer Jr., Tracy (Perry) Keel; adored grandchildren, Janine, Olivia, Danielle (Jake), David, Angela (John), Amber (Carl), Alyssa,Amanda, Anthony, Joshua, Kevin, Chucky, Heather, Brittney, Tommy, Alex, Andrew, Katie, Austin, Devin, Ryan and 21 great grandchildren. Tom is also survived by his siblings, Norma (Skip) Halsey, Carol Campbell, Terry (Rosie) Styer, Vicki (Jim) Buck and many nieces and nephews. Visitation for Tom will be on Thursday, October 31 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd. (at Alexis) 419-473-1301. Moose service will begin on Friday morning at 9:45 am in the H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home to follow with funeral service at 10:00 am on Friday with Cedar Creek Church officiating.
