Thomas James Corser Sr was born on September 2, 1947 in Toledo Ohio. He was the oldest of five children born from the union of the late James and the late Viola (Bailey) Corser. Tom graduated with the class of 1965 from Sylvania High School. He proudly enlisted into the United States Navy, where he served his country proudly earning several commendations including the Good Conduct Medal, through honorable discharge in 1974. Thomas met the love of his life, the former Barbara Armes and together they were wed on January 1, 1990 at Faith Bible Baptist Church in Holland and from this union came a blended family of six children. Tom worked hard to support his family. For more than thirty one years, he was employed by GM Powertrain where he worked in assembly until taking retirement in 2000. Tom was a loving husband, a fabulous Dad, an awesome pawpaw to his grandchildren, and kind and generous man. He received his spiritual nourishment through the Monclova Road Baptist Church where he was an active volunteer. He served his church family as an AWANA leader, a parking lot attendant and many other ways. Tom enjoyed cycling and running throughout the years, often competing in marathons. He loved camping with his family and playing video games at home. He had a passion for classic rock which he was able to share with his granddaughter Hannah by taking her to her first ever concert, AC/DC (Pink Floyd was his favorite). In his free time, Tom could often be found reading up to three books at a time. Tom also loved puzzles of all kinds from Tetris to Sudoku. Thomas James Corser Sr, age 72 of Weston Ohio passed away at 6:48pm on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Bowling Green with his loving family at his side. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his brothers: Mike and Bob Corser. To cherish his memory, Thomas leaves his loving wife of thirty years: Barbara of Weston; children: Diana (Henry) Cockerill of Swanton, Cheryl (Jim) Terry of Texas, Beckie (Danny Davila) Williams of Holland, Dane (Amy) Corser of Swanton, Cyndi Corser of Sylvania and Thomas (Shellie) Corser Jr of Toledo; sisters: Sue (Glenn) Crocket of Louisiana and Jean Ann (Austin) Crisp of Sylvania; seventeen grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Friends may gather from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Monclova Road Baptist Church, 7819 Monclova Rd, Monclova, OH 43542.
