Terrylee “Terry” Dembowski, 73, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Bay Park Community Hospital, Oregon, Ohio. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 23, 1948, the son of Bernard K. and Dorothy L. (Carnes) Dembowski. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1965 and proudly served on the USS Boxer (LPH4) until his honorable discharge in 1969. He fell in love with Brenda (Frederick), and they were married in Rocky Ridge, Ohio on January 1, 1983.
Terry drove truck for many years. Early in his career he was an owner/operator and drove for several companies and for the last 20+ years, until his retirement in 2015, he drove for Crete Carriers. In his early years Terry also raised and trained standard breed horses in New York State also becoming an accomplished farrier. Terry was an extremely outgoing man who made friends everywhere he went. Many knew him as a jokester and very compassionate man, a trait his family will always cherish. If he saw someone wearing a Navy Veterans cap, his family knew there would be a lengthy conversation about the service! He enjoyed studying Revolutionary and Civil War history and was well versed in all the details of the battles. Terry was an intelligent man who wanted to learn about everything he was interested in and had been invited to join MENSA but knew that his family and work came first. More important than anything, was his love and commitment to his wife and family. He was an immensely proud grandfather who relished every moment he spent with them.
