Sylvia S. Martens

Sylvia Martens, 82, of Toledo, OH passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on July 13, 1936 in Toledo to William and Dorothy (Woodruff) Saunders and she married Howard E. Martens, Sr. Sylvia spent 30 years working independently in home health care and she retired from Wal-Mart. She enjoyed traveling, going to the casino and sewing quilts, especially for her family. Sylvia was also a member of the Eastern Star and Eagles Womens Auxiliary #197. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Sylvia is survived by her loving children, Sue Napolski, Brenda Hirst, Bryant Paul Clapp and Barbara (Cash) Miller; grandchildren, Laurie (Josh) Helton, Danielle (Jason) Brown, Jimmy Harrington, Ali Napolski, Courtney Husen, Cole Miller, Dakota Miller, Michael (Sherri) Mulkey and Paige Keyees; 11 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Gene (Dort) Saunders, Phillip Bill (Patsy) Saunders and Bertha (Tom) Velliquette; and beloved friend, Bea. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, George Seabert; brothers, Donald and Larry Saunders; and beloved friends, Beverly Goucher and Frank Lynn. Friends will be received on Monday, April 22, 2019 from 1:00 to 8:00 in Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd, Toledo, OH 43613 (419-473-1301). Funeral services will be private.
