Steve passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife, Windy of 14 years and his family.
Steve was born to Wilma Carroll and the late William Carroll in Toledo, OH. Steve decided to join the United States Air Force. When in the Air Force, he was electrician and wanted to fly jets. When Steve left the Air Force, he did odd things for work when he decided to go to school to become a truck driver. Steve drove truck for 37 years. Steve was an owner operator and owned a couple of trucks. Steve's favorite run was over the road from Holland, Ohio to Laredo, Texas. He did heavy haul and flat bed work.
When Steve was home he enjoyed working on cars at his shop. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Steve really loved summertime. He would have big cookouts in the backyard playing horse shoes, corn hole, dancing silly, and to end it with everyone by the fire talking and laughing. Steve loved his grandkids crazy. He enjoyed watching them playing on the trampoline or in the water hose. He spent a lot of time listening to his granddaughter, his pride and joy, Libertyanne, hearing about college and the exciting things. Steve's favorite holiday was the 4th of July. That's when he would take his family camping with his extended family. Steve looked forward to doing a big fireworks display with his lifelong friend, Darren (Connie) Peters. When the crowd would holler and cheer them on, that was exciting to him. Steve made sure everyone would have an amazing time.
Steve had a heart of gold. When a person would be around Steve, he treated you as family not a stranger. Steve was an amazing inspiration and wonderful man. Couldn't ask to know a better person.
Steve was preceede in death by his sister, Denise Jones; granddaughter, Vivica Carroll; niece, Anissa Garcia; mamas and papaws, Margret and Estal Jones and Silace and Flora Carroll.
