Stanley Karavida, Jr

Stanley Karavida, age 85 of Toledo, Ohio went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, January 17, 2014 at Windhaven Eldercare. He was born in Toledo on August 26, 1928 to Stanley Mike and Eileen Karavida. Stan was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was employed in the accounting department at Nazar Rubber Co. for many years, retiring in 1990. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Ann Karavida, parents, Stanley Mike and Eileen Karavida, daughter, Barbara Ann Karavida, sisters, Eileen Cole, Betty Smeaton, Mildred Hahn and Patricia Save, and longtime childhood friend, Tom Buster. Stan is survived by his loving children, Michael (Donna) Karavida, Anna (James) Woodward and Angela (Bill) Fischbach. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nicholas (Becca) Woodward, Adam (Kerry) Woodward, Ashley (Derek Nichols) Woodward, Sara (Scott) Mohrman, Katie (Joe) French, Ben Fischbach, Diana Karavida, Christopher Woodward, great grandchildren, Ava Woodward, Maggie Woodward, Adrina Woodward, Ila Woodward, Brandon Woodward, Charles French, Jax Nichols, and baby on the way, Austin Woodward, sister, Margaret Huelke, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd. (at Alexis) 419-473-1301 on Sunday, January 19, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday at Mayfair-Plymouth Church, 5253 Bennett Rd. from 10:00 am until time of funeral beginning at 11:00. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
