Sharon Thornton

Sharon Lee Thornton, 83, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022. She was born in Millbury to Orville, Sr. and Bessie (Snyder) Yant on December 21, 1938. Sharon met her beloved husband, Donald Thornton, while a student at Lake High School and they quickly became high school sweethearts. They were married shortly after graduation and together raised their two wonderful children. Sharon was known as a skilled decorator and cook. Her apple pies were her special treat that nobody could turn down. She had a creative mind and excelled at creating ceramics, knitting, and crocheting. Her greatest pride was taking care of her family. She was caretaker for her parents and husband.

Sharon is survived by her children, Christy (Greg) Wisler, Robert Thornton; grandchildren, Gregory Wisler, Angela (Andrew) Williams; Amy Wisler; great-grandchild, Anderson Williams; niece, Nancy Kay (Mark) Murphy; and many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Judith Yant, Orville Yant, Jr., and parents.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 12 Noon at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Walbridge, OH. A burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to ProMedica Hospice.
