Sharon M. Probst, 81, of Swanton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Friday, January 12, 2024 at ProMedica Flower Hospital in Sylvania, OH.
Sharon was born to Mary “Maxine” Vance and Paul Eugene Smith, March 17th 1942, in Wauseon, Ohio. She was a lifelong resident of Swanton, Ohio. She was a Class of 1960 graduate of Swanton High School. Sharon loved her first job as a car hop at Bee’s Drive-in. She was co-leader, leader and member of the board for Camp Fire Girls for 10 years.
Later, she spent many years working two jobs at Main Pharmacy and McDonalds. Eventually, she worked at the Medical College of Ohio (MCO) in the emergency room admitting. She went back to school for Pharmacy Technician and retired from MCO in that position.
Sharon loved to play canasta, dominoes and other card and board games. She loved to take day trips, especially to see the fall colors and Christmas lights. She loved taking care of people in anyway she could; especially her family members.
She loved going to the fairs and seeing her favorite country music artists. She will be remembered for her sense of fun, and the way she loved and cared about all of her friends and family.
Sharon was preceded in death by; her parents, Paul and Maxine Smith, her brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Anne Smith, her nephew Raymond Smith and her husband Kenneth Probst.
Sharon is survived by; her daughter Denise Haines, son Michael (Kathryn) Haines, niece Sheila (Kevin Webber) Smith, nephew Bennett (Marilou) Smith, and nephew Allan (Cathy Crippen) Smith.
A private graveside service for the family is planned for Saturday, February 24th, 2024 at 1pm.
