Scott S. Breseman

Scott Stefan Breseman, 65, of Holland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer.

Scott was born on January 7, 1961, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Gene Elwyn Breseman and Stephanie (Garber) Breseman. He graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in 1979 and went on to dedicate 30 years of service to the Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital, where he worked as a Therapeutic Program Worker before retiring in 2014.

On June 9, 2006, Scott married the love of his life, Brandi (Senn) Breseman, in Toledo, Ohio. Though he had no biological children, Scott embraced his role as a devoted stepfather to Jonathan Smith, Justin (Katie) Smith, and Jacob (Rachael) Smith. He was also a proud grandfather to Michael, Addison, Maxwell, James, and Lance, who brought great joy to his life.

Scott is survived by his wife, stepsons, and grandchildren; brother, Ross (Shan) Breseman; nieces, Jessica, Nicole, Jennifer, and BreAnna; and nephew, Spencer; in-laws, Del and Kathy Senn. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Todd Breseman.

Scott will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, and deep love for his family. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life - boating, fishing, gardening, bird watching, a good joke, playing cards with his family, and caring for the five acres he and Brandi called home. Above all, Scott cherished every moment spent with Brandi, whom he affectionately spoiled and adored.

A viewing and celebration of Scott's life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Ray Neville Chapel at Sunrise Cremations and Funerals, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, OH 43528. Viewing hours are from 10 am - 12 pm, with service to follow at 12 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in his memory to the Toledo Humane Society, as Scott was a huge animal lover.
