Sally Guthrie

Sally Guthrie, 81, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. Sally was born on September 14, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, daughter of Harold Reed and Josephine Mary Ratz.

Sally was known for her generous spirit, loving heart, and her constant willingness to go above and beyond for her family. Sally faithfully sent Christmas and birthday cards each year, ensuring that every family member and close friend felt acknowledged and loved. She also expressed her love through crocheting. She was especially known for the baby blankets and clothing she handmade for every new baby she knew. She enjoyed traveling, especially with her travel buddy and nephew, Josiah. She cherished her cruises, where she delighted in exploring new places and creating lasting memories.

Above all, Sally's greatest joy was her family. Her love was steady, her generosity abundant, and her faith inspiring. She will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish her memory include her son, Joseph (Dawn) Reed; grandchildren, Dionna (Elijah) Hannah, Joanna (Dominic) Goodwin, Samuel (Jessica) Reed, Mary, and Mia Reed; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Esther (Walter) Adams, Linda Holley, and Catherine (Michael) Polinski; multiple beloved nieces and nephews; and best friend, travel companion, and cousin, Diane Puszczewicz. Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Guthrie; both parents, and one brother, Joseph Reed. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 10:00-11:00 am, at the Ray Neville Chapel of Sunrise Cremations and Funerals, Holland, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, immediately after the service.
