Ruth Rudolph passed away on May 31, 2016 at Parkcliffe Community in Toledo. She was born on April 18, 1916 in Toledo to George and Mary Scherer Jaegle. Ruth graduated from Woodward High School on May 28, 1935. She married the love of her life, Rudy Rudolph on September 10, 1939 at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Ruth was preceded in death by Rudy in 1969 and by granddaughters Jill Rudolph and infant Melinda Rudolph. Ruth is survived by sons Ron (Cheryl) Rudolph and Jim (JoEllen) Rudolph; five grandchildren: Theresa (Butch) Smith, Ken (Cathi) Rudolph, Lorri Smith, John (Theresa) Rudolph, and Mindy (Steve) Keene; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Ruth has one surviving brother Jerry Jaegle, sisters-in law Dorothy Jaegle and Reva Rudolph Vogelsong and good friends Joyce and Larry. Her deceased siblings include Roy Jaegle, who died in WWII, Rose (John) Schneider, George (Mary) Jaegle, Marcella Molly (Bob) Burks, Harold (Sue) Jaegle, and Don (Dorothy) Jaegle. Ruths life was guided by her Catholic faith and love of her family. She worked at the Lucas County Board of Elections. Ruth and her sister Molly spent many hours volunteering at St. Agnes Catholic Church and St. Agnes School. After St. Agnes closed, she attended and volunteered at St. Catherines Catholic Church. Ruths sisters and sisters-in-law were her best friends with whom she enjoyed playing Bunko and card games. She loved camping with Rudy and her boys and later with son Jim and his wife. Ruth continued camping through her 96th year with five generations of family at the Rudolph campout. Her favorite activity was looking at the stars in the night sky. Ruths family cherishes how much Grandma Ruth enriched their lives. Her family thanks the wonderful staff at West Park Place and the Parkcliffe Community for their loving care of Ruth. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday June 4, 2016 at St. Catherines of Siena Church, 4555 N. Haven Avenue, Toledo. The visitation will begin at St. Catherines one hour before the mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Toledo.
