Ruth B. Surdasky Jankowski

Ruth B. Jankowski, age 83, of Toledo, Ohio, gently passed away Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Flower Hospital. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 6, 1926 to Stanley and Josephine (Stevens) Surdasky.Ruth was a life long member of St. Clement Catholic Church. She enjoyed the time she spent in the Eagles REAC, St. Francis Guild, Whitmer Group and UAW Local 12 Retirees. Ruth was a regular bowler with Champion Spark Plug where she met her husband Stanley and worked for 47 years. Later she bowled with the Buckeyes in the Monday Seniors Bowling league. She loved her time spent with family and friends and was known for her wisdom.She was proceeded in death by her parents, loving husband of 28 years Stanley, Jankowski brothers, Clarence (Wanda) and Richard (Martha) Surdasky. Ruth is survived by her daughters Diane Jankowski, Sharon (Walter) Beckford, son Michael Jankowski and grandchildren Tyler and Ashley Beckford.Visitation for Ruth will be at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd (at Alexis), (419)473-1301 on February 3 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home with prayers recited at 9:15 AM to be followed with Mass of the Christian Burial at St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd, Toledo on February 4 at 10:00 AM. Internment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
