Russell, Rusty, Bud, L. Davis, 86 of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Ebeid Hospice on November 28, 2016. He was born to John & Leeta (Shaw) Davis on August 16, 1930 in Portsmouth Ohio. Upon graduating from Portsmouth H.S., Bud served 4 years with the U.S. Navy and 8 years with the U.S. Coast Guard onboard ships in domestic & foreign waters & land locked in the Philippines. Rusty was employed with Continental Aviation & retired from Champion Spark Plug. At Champion he met Carol A. Steadman; they married in July 1970 & Rusty was instantly blessed with Carols 4 young children. Motorcycles have always been extremely important in his life. Short trips, long trips: if he was on a motorcycle, they were good trips. He loved working on them; he built one of the first Trikes back in the 70s. He loved the adventuresome spirit; & was a deep thinker, always bringing another viewpoint to the conversation. He was an avid reader & loved the West Toledo Library, he had a profound interest in electronics & enjoyed his daily morning walks through the neighborhood . His sister, Joan Davis Bowman (Judge Ron), with whom he shared a special bond, preceded him in death, Nov. 8, 2016. Rusty is survived by his sister, Linda (Roger) Evans; step children Carol (Bob) Decator, Scott Steadman, Candy (Jack) Hindman, Christina (Greg) Grilliot. He is also survived by close cousins K. Sue Wikoff, Dennis Wikoff, Richard Bosak & 5 nieces and nephews; distant cousins; numerous grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren & former spouse, Carol Davis. Rusty, Bud, who loved his family deeply, was a very thoughtful & generous man with a kind heart. We will all miss him greatly. As per Rustys wishes there will be no services.
