Rose Marie Miller, age 93, formerly of Farmington Hills, MI passed peacefully with her family at her bedside on Saturday, April 22, 2023, in Waterville, OH. She was born on October 2, 1929, in Wheeling, West Virginia to George and Mary Hummel.
Rose Marie was a devout catholic, devoted to the Blessed Mother. She was married for 62 years to William P. Miller. She graduated from St. Clairsville High School and attended Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH and Miami University in Oxford, OH, graduating with an Education Degree. She taught 5th grade until becoming a full-time mother.
She loved to play bridge and euchre (always won!), enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and especially looked forward to bi-annual family reunions. She was actively involved with Our Lady of Sorrows parish in Farmington Hills and volunteered for The Christ Child Society and the Judson Center. Rose Marie became an expert at moving, relocating her family 8 times during the span of her husband’s career.
Rose Marie is survived by her children Anne (Bernard) Drouillard of Holland, OH, William (Ann) of Wooster, OH, John (Cathy) of Three Rivers, CA, Mary (Kevin) Woods of Burr Ridge, IL, and David (deceased) (Kyung) of Arlington, VA; 14 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren with one on the way; and sister-in-law, Christine (Alan) Jones of Carrollton, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William; son, David; and sister, Dorothy Ebbert.
The family would like to thank the wonderful, caring people at StoryPoint, Ohio Living Hospice and a special thank you to Nancy Langenderfer who personally cared for Rose Marie during the last 5 months.
Family and Friends will be received on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Parish, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, OH from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral mass at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, DE. Memorial contributions may be made to the David H. Miller Endowment Fund or Ohio Living Hospice- Greater Toledo.
