Rose E. Edson, age 82, of Toledo, passed away peacefully April 15, 2025 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania, with a therapy dog Cindy at her side – Rose called the dog “Sunday”. She was born January 21, 1943 in Toledo, OH to Mr. & Mrs. Willard (Eileen Eaton) Edson. She was a graduate of Rogers High School and Davis Business College. She worked as a sales clerk at Champion Spark Plug for 30 years, retiring in 1993 and then for 10 years for the City of Toledo. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Rose enjoyed going to the zoo and being a “zoo pal”

She enjoyed knitting, gardening, going to tea at the Wildwood Manor House in Toledo on Central Ave on the Frank Stranahan Estate (founder of Champion Spark Plug Co). She loved her pets, Erie (a dog she rescued while working for the City of Toledo on Erie Street), Sassy (another rescue dog), a cat named Princess, & Callie Mae (another rescue animal who lived part of the time while Rose was in the Sr. Apartment on Executive Parkway). She was a member of the Champion Quarter Century Club. She loved , travels, books, animals, trolleys & trains. A visit to New England with a friend, 2 trips to Niagara Falls NY's Oakwood Cemetery in 2011 & 2012 (where her great, grand aunt Annie Edson Taylor is buried) for Annie Edson Taylor Birthday Celebrations. Rose took many Auto Club tours including her favorite Alaska Tour in 2011 (a Cruise & Railroad Tour).

Family vacations centered around her father's hobby of trolley's & trains so Rose developed a love for trolleys & trains also. Many people may remember the backyard trolley system in the Reynold's Corner, Dorr St/Eton Rd area built by her father & his friends. When the Willard Edson's Trolleys were sold & moved to Xenia, OH, Rose & her sister took a trip to Xenia in April 2012 to see the new location. Rose & her sister also took several trips to Skaneateles, NY, the birthplace of her father in the NY States Finger Lake's District.

Other activities Rose enjoyed was the Croswell Opera House in Adrian, MI. & annual get togethers with life long friend's from 1951 from her Eton Rd neighborhood. Friends for 74 years.

Rose left the Willard Edson Family home in 2013 (the home sold in 2014) & Rose spent the next 12 years in the Senior Living Apartment on Executive Parkway which was in 3 different ownerships during her stay, presently known as Glass Peaks Senior Living. The Family Thanks everyone involved with caring for Rose over her last 12 years, The Staff at the Sr. Living apartment & several visiting Care Groups (Unique Health Care Solutions & Platinum Senior Solutions).

Survived by her sister, Elsie E. (Paul) White of TX and several cousins. She was the great-grand niece of Annie Edson Taylor, the 1st woman to go over Niagara Falls and survive.
