Roberta E. "Bobbie" Benson

Roberta E. “Bobbie” Benson, age 66, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born February 8, 1955, in Toledo to the late W.O. and Evelyn (Miller) Neff. Bobbie graduated from Springfield High School and turned her love of animals into a lifetime calling. For many years, she spent her days as a veterinary technician and managed several pet stores in the area. She also poured her time and attention into breeding and raising her Pomeranians into show dogs! Bobbie was an incredibly loving and kind person who devoted much time to her family. She had a terrific sense of humor, and she loved her Pepsi! Bobbie is survived by her children, Russell D. (Kimberly) Benson and Rachel E. Benson; grandchildren, Jessica J. Benson and Trace N. Benson; sister, Judy Hartman; niece, Wendy Hartman-Hasselbach and her sons, Gabe and Seth Hasselbach; niece, Heidi Neff and her son, Hudson Neff; uncle and dear friend, Jim Weaver. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russell J. Benson, Jr., on May 19, 2011; brother, Bill Neff; and brother-in-law, Glenn Hartman. Roberta will be privately laid to rest next to her husband at Springfield Township Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Roberta’s life from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, September 23, 2021, at the Holland-Springfield Walker Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, concluding with a Pepsi Toast to honor Roberta at 7:00 p.m. Contributions in her name are suggested to the Toledo Area Humane Society.
