Robert Walker

Robert Walker, age 69 of Toledo, Ohio passed away very unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. He was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on October 26, 1947 to Charles and Elaine Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Richard Walker (1991). Rob is survived by his loving family: brother & guardian, Skip Walker (Shannon), super sister-in-law, Karen Walker, devoted nieces and nephews: Kerri (Rich), Shanon (Kurt), Casey (Wendy), Steven (Kelly), Kevin; 9 great-nieces and nephews and many cousins. Robert was employed at The Pharm Drug Store in Sylvania for 19 years as the cart manager'. Rob led an active, fun and meaningful life thanks to so many people. Besides his close family, he loved his Trilby Church family; his friends at Assured Health, Inc., managed by Chris, Ron and Heather, where he spent each weekday with creative, interactive activities; Kaitlin Ganss, his S.A.S.S., who assisted through Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities; staff of Sena's Quality Adult Care, who assisted Rob with meals and support in his own home; and his dog, Brandy, who died in February. Rob enjoyed fishing, Special Olympics, bowling, vacations (especially his annual February cruise), family get-togethers, grocery shopping and oh yes, restaurants-he loved to eat! The Walker family expresses gratitude to all who touched Rob's life. HE enhanced many lives in his 69 years and there is joy in heaven now as Chuck, Elaine and his twin, Rick, celebrate! Visitation for Rob will be at H. H. BIRKENKAMP FUNERAL HOME, 3219 Tremainsville Rd (at Alexis) 419-473-1301 on Monday, March 27 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at Trilby United Methodist Church, 5918 Secor Rd. from 9:30 am until time of service beginning at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
