Robert J. Robson Robert J. Robson, 83 of Walbridge, died August 6, 2021 in Toledo. He was born on October 10, 1937 to John (Mildred Baker) Robson. Bob was proud to be a lifetime resident of Walbridge. Bob was employed as a clerk retiring after 42 years with CSX railroad. He also owned a snow removal and excavating company and was instrumental in “digging out” after the blizzard of 78. Bob served the Walbridge-Lake Township Fire Department for 35 years, served two terms on city council and elected three terms as Mayor of Walbridge. Bob was instrumental in land purchases and village expansion where he brought several businesses and tax dollars to the village, helped start the Halloween Spooktacular and Christmas Parade, helped to get the first annual Hot Rod Power Tour to come through Walbridge on their way from California to Summit Raceway Park in Norwalk, formed the first village leaf pick up, assisted Gary Bowers of Bowers Asphalt to bulldoze and grade the Railway Park hill for a sledding hill, helped negotiate the contract with Waste Management for trash pick up in the village, he and his friend Kenny Smith built and welded the outfield fence for the “Bears” Diamond, “Herb Minuto Field” , and led the fire department in flooding the outfield at Loop Park for community ice skating. He was preceded in death by his wife Rosalie, surviving are his children Brenda (James Nowak) Robson and Todd (Lisa O’Brien) Robson, grandson, Lucas Robson Friends will be received in the Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home 701 N. Main St. Walbridge, Ohio 43465 (419-666-3121) from 5-8 PM Thursday, and Friday from 2-8 PM where the Walbridge-Lake Township Fire Dept will conduct services at 7 PM. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Lake Twp. Cemetery.
