Robert Cousino

Robert Charles Cousino, age 90, born June 25, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully at Hospice and entered into Heaven on April 21, 2022. Bob was the youngest son of Solomon and Edna (Schlagheck) Cousino. He was a graduate from Libbey High School in 1951 and an accomplished athlete in football and track. Bob was very proud of his service in the Air Force from 1951-1955. He was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska and played on their football team. He also loved hunting, fishing, bowling, and horseshoes. Bob looked forward to his daily chores of feeding the birds, giving the squirrels their peanuts, and especially doted on his outside kitty Holly. He had a great lover for animals.On July 13, 1957, Bob married the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann Wonderly. They were together for over 60 years. They were members of Saint Charles Catholic Church and he was a member of the Knights of Columbus.Bob was employed by Plaskon in Toledo, where he was a tester until the plant was shut down and he was forced into retirement at age 55. He enjoyed his retirement immensely, playing golf at many courses, including annual golf trips to Myrtle Beach, and playing cards during the winter months with friends. He also enjoyed going to many parties with all the family and friends through the years.Bob appreciated all of the love and care provided by his children, keeping him supplied with goodies and dinners, taking him to his appointments, helping with bills, and household chores.Bob is survived by; his sons Michael (Sandy) and Daniel Cousino; daughter Brenda (Scott) Budy; grandchildren Katie and Kourtney Cousino and Casey and Carson Budy; eldest brother Edward Cousino of Nevada; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by; his parents; wife Betty; son Steven; and sisters Joyce Knestrick and Ruth McElroy.There will be a memorial service on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. at Saint Charles Catholic Church (1842 Airport Hwy. Toledo, OH), with a celebration of life luncheon at 12:00 P.M. at the Sylvania Moose Lodge (6072 Main St. Sylvania, Ohio).
