Robert Baird

Robert Lee Baird, age 81 of Toledo, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. Robert was born on July 13, 1933 to Asa and Mildred Baird in Toledo and graduated from Waite High School in 1951. After graduation, Robert enlisted in the US Marine Corp in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1955 following his service in Korea. Robert was married to his wife, Carole Ann Dayton, in 1952. Robert worked for General Mills from 1955 until his retirement in 1993 and was very proud of his 3 children. Robert was preceded in death by his Wife Carole in 1972, and his parents. He is survived by his children; Michael (Madeline) Baird, Barbara (Steve) McMichael, and Kathy Schroeder, grandchildren; Stevie (Sarah), Brandee (Jason), Dillion, Kim (Woodby), and Randy (Angela), great grandchildren; Bonnie, Morgan, Logan, and Piper, his sister, Marybelle Shiffert, and very special friend of the last 24 years, Nancy Baker. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00p.m. at H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd. 419-473-1301. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00a.m. with military honors.
