Richard Staffan died peacefully at St. Vincent Medical Center on April 4, 2023, at the age of 88. He was born on November 6, 1934, to his parents, John and Myrtle Staffan. He married Barbara, the love of his life on May 27, 1961, and they were happily married for 57 years until her passing in 2020. Together, they traveled all over the United States while they were able.
Dick was filled with dad jokes and a great sense of humor, including his infamous Donald Duck imitations. He loved the Cleveland Indians (Guardians), Cleveland Browns, golf, and bowling. For years he played men’s softball and was very competitive. He was a lifetime member of the Rossford Eagles.
Hard work was a staple in Dick’s life. He worked as an operator for Libbey Owens Ford and after retiring in 1991, he would spend another 20 years working for Kroger as a bagger.
Left to cherish his memory, granddaughter, Kelli; daughter, Brenda; son, Rick; sisters, Lynne and Nancy; grandsons, Jason and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Melissa, David, Toby, Juliet, Avery, Bryson, Ethan and Breeah; great-great-grandchild, Luna; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Dick are his parents; wife, Barbara; daughter Christie; and his beloved pups, Sadie and Mitzy.
