Richard Edward Minkowski

Richard E. "Rick" Minkowski, age 71, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 25, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio, to Richard and Gloria Minkowski.

Rick graduated from Macomber High School in 1972 and retired from the City of Toledo Water Department in 2014. Rick was an avid sports fan, always rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes, the San Francisco 49ers, and all Detroit teams. He was devoted to his children and grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to support them in any way he could. He loved staying busy and was always on the go.

Rick's favorite hobbies included sharing his love and knowledge of sports with his grandson Cameron and sitting on the sidelines at his grandson Peyton's many baseball games. He also enjoyed crosswords, word searches, and animals of all kinds-never turning away a stray. Rick loved driving around and visiting his friends and family.

Rick was a kind-hearted man who made friends with everyone he met. He will be missed endlessly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Richard is survived by his daughters, Jessika and Lyndy (and his favorite son-in-law, Mark); his grandsons, Cameron and Peyton; his siblings, Andra (Chet) Greene, Shawna (Dave) Mitchell, Marla, and Neil; and special friends Pam and Erin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Gloria Minkowski, and his two sons, Milo and Jason.

Per Rick's wishes, there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
