Richard E. Glenn, 65, passed peacefully on June 2, 2017. A beloved husband, devoted father, cherished brother, uncle and friend, Rick will be missed by all who knew him. Rick was a person known for his warm smile, a heart of gold and his friendly disposition. He most enjoyed spending time on his boat fishing, playing golf and bowling with friends, antiquing, and spending time at the family cottage. Rick will be remembered most for his enthusiasm for living life and loving unconditionally. After his initial diagnosis almost a year ago, he committed his remaining time to visits with family and friends and living life to the fullest. His many caring relatives and friends will miss Rick dearly. If life is measured by the lives we touch, than Rick was a rich man. The family would like to thank his work family Piccadilly West, R.J. Lloyd, Tim Erard, Julia Letson, Tyler Hove and Lonnie Filipovich. A special and sincere thank you to Ricks best friend, Chris Woodward, who made the last year full of laughs and everlasting memories. Rick is survived by his wife, Charmaine Lytle-Glenn; children, Darcey, Amanda (Dre) and Caitlin; grandchildren, Olivia and Lauren; siblings, Don (Terri) and Linda (Tom); nephews, Tommy (Kelly) and Donny and nieces Theresa and Stephanie. The family wishes to share a poem from friends Jeff and Sharon as well as poem in response that Rick held close to his heart: The soul would have no rainbows, if the eyes had no tears. You will always be a rainbow in our soul, because we will have tears. I give you this one thought to keep - I am with you still - I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the sweet uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not think of me as gone - I am with you still in each new dawn. As always, Rick had a plan in place. He asked that there not be a memorial service and that he be laid to rest by his family at the family cottage. The family will be installing a bench at this spot with an engraved plaque honoring him. If you would like to donate to the memorial, please go to youcaring.com/RichardGlenn. The family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this time. Arrangements were entrusted to H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, Toledo, Ohio (419-473-1301) Condolences can be shared at www.birkenkampfuneralhome.com
