Richard L. Crandall, age 75, of Holland, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at his home. He was born on December 4, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio to the late Richard and Gertrude (Michalak) Crandall.
Richard graduated from Springfield Township High School in 1967 and worked for Chrysler in Toledo for over 30 years, retiring as a truck driver in 1997. An outdoorsman, Richard enjoyed fishing and spending time at the shooting range. He could often be found cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes or working in his yard. He and his wife, Karen, loved to camp and had many wonderful adventures travelling over the years. Richard’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren who affectionately called him Papa.
Richard is lovingly survived by his wife, Karen Crandall; daughter, Wendy L. (Brian) Gogol; siblings, Daniel (Kathy) Crandall, Dale (Ann) Crandall, Denise (Jim) Knisley, Dean (Kelly) Crandall; grandchildren, Sean Jones, Tori Gogol, Samantha Gogol, Brandon Gogol; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard “Richie” Crandall in 1996, and brother, David Crandall.
Family and friends will be received from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in the Ray Neville Chapel at Sunrise Life Celebrations, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Military graveside rites by the United States Army and burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
