Raymond Wedding

Raymond Wedding, age 78, of Toledo, died Friday June 24, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family and precious dog, Nikki. He was born July 11, 1937 in Purwokerto, Indonesia to Mr. & Mrs. Wilhelm Frederich (Flora Gouyn) Wedding. He retired from SSOE Group in 2002 as an electrical engineer, and continued his work up until April 2016. He adored his dog, traveling, watching soccer, baseball, and hockey, and during game breaks watched CNN. A regular activity was meeting friends weekly for lunch, and regular weekend breakfasts with family. He immigrated to United States from the Netherlands in 1962. He arrived with $225 in his pocket with three young children and a wife and had two more children after he immigrated to the United States. He was proud of his Indo-Dutch heritage and loved eating Indonesian food. His number one priority was providing and caring for his family. Raymond is survived by his children, Diana (Patrick) Wheeler, Deborah Wedding, Barbara (John) Cassidy, Jennifer Wedding, Edward Wedding; and grandchildren, Katy & Kelly Wheeler, Daniel & Jennifer Mowka, and Jieli Kasprzak; and his sister, Sylvia (Jan) Overbeek Bloem. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jenny. His beloved dog Nikki also passed and will be joining him. Friends and family will be received at HH Birkenkamp Funeral Home (3219 Tremainsville Rd/ @ Alexis Rd.) on Monday from 1 PM until the time of Services at 7 PM.
