Raymond James Ray Chmielewski

Raymond Ray J. Chmielewski, 83, of Toledo, OH passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Toledo Hospital. He was born on August 31, 1935 in Toledo to John and Sadie Chmielewski and he married Dolores A. (Wenzlick) Draeger on August 26, 1995. Ray was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. After graduation he proudly served his country in the United States Army in Korea. Ray was employed for over 55 years as a meat cutter for Kroger before retiring in 2007. He was an avid sports fan especially, Central Catholic Football and the Lady Rockets basketball. He loved to cook, garden and fish. Ray is survived by his loving wife, Dolores A. Chmielewski; step children, Carrie (Andrew) Hovest, Bob Draeger, Bob Rhodus and Bill (Ann) Rhodus; grandchildren, Katelynn, Emily, Sarah, Anna, Grace, Maria, Jillian, Jennifer, Scott, Christie and Vickie; and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Olga and siblings, Ted, John, Vi, Patsy, Stanley and Joe. Friends will be received on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm in Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd. Toledo, OH 43613 (419-473-1301). Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Martin Luther Church, 601 Nevada St. Toledo, OH 43605.
