Randy Lee Thatcher, Sr.

Randy Lee Thatcher, Sr., age 62 passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2026. His passing was preceded by his parents, Robert and Evelyn Thatcher and three brothers, Raymond, Robert and Keith Thatcher.

Randy Lee Thatcher, Sr. was born on October 30, 1963 in Toledo, Ohio. He was one of four sons born to the union of Robert Thatcher, Sr. and Evelyn (Boyd) Thatcher. Randy attended Anthony Wayne High School in Whitehouse, Ohio, graduating with the class of 1982.

To provide for his family, Randy worked as a heavy equipment operator for Stoneco Lime City Quarry for many years.

Randy loved the outdoors whether he was trekking through the woods hunting for morel mushrooms or enjoying a ride along the countryside on his Harley Davidson Heritage Softail motorcycle. He loved watching football and rooting on his two favorite teams, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. He loved playing music in his band where he started playing bass guitar before switching to playing the drums. Randy loved making people laugh with his great sense of humor and was always ready and willing to tell a joke. Above all, Randy cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren.

To cherish his memories he leaves behind two daughters, Suzanna Thatcher and Patricia Thatcher; one son, Randy Thatcher, Jr.; his longtime companion, Sara Hutchinson; and five grandchildren he adored, Gavin, Gage, Landen, Evelyn, and Mila.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until 7:00pm on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at The Ray Neville Chapel at Sunrise Cremations and Funerals, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528. A celebration of Randy's life will begin at 11:00am on Monday, October 19, 2026, also at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Coley, officiating. A procession will follow to Highland Memorial Gardens in Waterville, Ohio for burial.
