Paul M. Zam

December 16, 1939 — July 25, 2021

Paul Michael Zam, age 81, of Walbridge, Ohio went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family, on July 25th, 2021 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. He was born on December 16th, 1939 to Paul and Elizabeth Zam. He was a 1957 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Toledo Ohio where he was an outstanding member of their football team. He later married his wife Judy (Fry) on January 30th, 1960. Paul was employed at GM Powertrain for 42 years. Over time, he worked his way up from a general laborer position to become a Journeyman Pipe Fitter and worked in that capacity until his retirement. Paul loved spending time with his wife Judy. They often would take trips to Las Vegas, Atlantic City and various other casinos to gamble and enjoy the other amenities that were offered. Paul loved gambling in general and would buy Ohio Lottery tickets on a Very regular basis hoping to “win it big”. One of his most memorable wins was when he made it to the TV program “Cash Explosion” where he placed second. In his younger years, Paul loved hunting and fishing and spent as much time as possible partaking in those activities with his sons and friends. He also loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. He enjoyed participating in family gatherings and would always be ready to crack a joke that would add laughter and cheer to those around him. We’ll miss the strength of his fatherly presence and love that was shown to all of us. We will never forget the good times that were spent and what a good man he was. We were all very blessed to have him in our lives. Paul is preceded in death by his wife Judy and parents and survived by his children Lisa (Albert) King, Paul (Allison) Zam Jr. and Scott (Michelle) Zam, and He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. They are: Nikki King, children Henry and Claire. AJ King II. Rachel (Andrew) Shields, children Ian and Austin. Paul Zam III, child Jack, Benjamin, Lucas, Tyler and Lilliana. Brandyn, Caden(LeeAnne), Zane and Noah. Brother Gerry (Pranom) Zam, sister Julie (Tom) Foulk, Pet dog and longtime companion Herbie. Friends and family may visit Witzler-Shank- Walker Funeral home 701 N Main St, Walbridge Ohio on Thursday July 29th from 2 – 8pm. Funeral Services will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner St, Walbridge Ohio on Friday July 30th at 10AM. Graveside services will take place at Lake Township Cemetery immediately following. The family would like to thank Dr. Hauger, Dr. Sheldon, nurses Mel, Chris, Nina, Katelyn, Tori & Barb and all employees for their unwavering compassion and care at St. Vincent’s Heart Center. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Paul, please consider St. Jerome’s Parish or the American Heart Association. Paul would like to let all of you know that his work here is done. He received a call, sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which he will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends he has not seen in a long time.” This is not goodbye, just “see you later”
