Paul Herbert Holloway

Paul Herbert Holloway, aka Pooky, 89, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Pauline (Vanuck) and Lewis Holloway and brother of Robert (Bobby) Holloway.

Paul was a lifelong resident of Holland, Ohio. At age 4, Paul took tap dancing lessons and was known professionally as Tiny Taps. He graduated from Holland High School, class of 1950, with a perfect attendance record all 12 years! He acquired his master plumbers license and started Holloway plumbing. His slogan was “not perfect, but damn close”. Paul was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Paul and Ingrid met at Café Michel in Germany. Paul’s army buddies all asked Ingrid to dance. Each of them were turned down. Paul faced his shyness and asked Ingrid to dance. She said yes! The rest is history… Until Paul’s passing, he was the longest living member of Club 16, spanning 70 years. This is where Paul mastered his euchre playing skills and passed these skills onto his children. Paul had a great love for nature and the outdoors. He was an avid steward of the environment and was repurposing and recycling before there was a term for it. He enjoyed sailing, golfing and traveling with Ingrid. Paul always had a garden, a great love for music an amazing sense of humor and the quickest wit. He was curious, creative, compassionate, loving, full of good humor, an excellent teller of jokes and stories. He truly was the kindest man in the world.

Paul is survived by his children, Renee (Jay), Yvonne (Ally), Stewart (Dawn);

grandchildren, Sean (Jen), Nathan (Kiersten), Rachel (Mike), Aric (Caryn), Ian (Stephanie), Nicholas (Natalia), Aaron (Kristen), Holly (James), Heather (Aaron), Hannah (Kenny), Stewart, Harlie, Steven (Brianna); and 27 Great grandchildren. Paul’s wife of 57 years, Ingrid (Stoeber), preceded him in death.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm in the Walker Funeral Home, Holland-Springfield Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, OH 43528 (419-865-8879). Graveside services will be held following the visitation at 1:00 pm in Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please send donations to The Alzheimer’s Association.
