Patricia Ann Roper

Patricia Ann Roper, 95, of Toledo, quietly passed away on August 12, 2021, in her home surrounded by family soon after losing her lifelong companion. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Lulu Pettit (McHenry) and Percival Pettit , sister Mary Francis, brothers, Harry, James, William, Nathan, McHenry andJohn, daughter Connie Peatee (Edwards) and her beloved lifelong companion of almost 60 years Betty Angela Tresso. She is survived by her son-in law Carl J. Peatee and grandchildren Carl F. Peatee and his children (James & Andrew), Angela (Aaron) Murphy (Peatee), their children (Emily, Madeline, & Brendan), Laura (Mark) Ostrander (Peatee) and their children (Mackenzie &Laney). She grew up in McArthur, OH in southeastern Hocking Hills area. She was tasked with raising her 5 brothers at an early age when her mother and sister died from pneumonia. Her family eventually migrated to Toledo for employment where she worked for a while for Owen Illinois, GC Murphys, Cooks Department Store until she graduated from nursing school and finally settled at Park View Hospital working as an LPN for 18 years, until her retirement in 1989. She enjoyed traveling with Betty and the grandchildren and great grandchildren on vacations to see many historical sites all around the country, and just spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent her retirement volunteering for Mobile Meals and assisting Betty with her duties as sacristan and lay communion distributor at St. Charles Hospital and later caring for her friend Betty Angela in her final years. Visitation will be on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Walbridge, OH (419-666-3121). Visitation will resume in the funeral home on Tuesday August 17, 2021 at 9:00 a.m., where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
