Pamela J. Butler

Pamela Joyce Butler passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Pam was born on March 20, 1956 to Thomas Sr. and Myrtle Butler in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1974.

Pam proudly served her community for 30 years with the Lucas County Sheriff’s Department. She retired in 2014 as a Sergeant and head of security at the Toledo Municipal Court building. Her service in her community did not end when she retired. Pam used her time to cultivate a large vegetable garden so she could donate the produce to those in need. She also volunteered weekly at the Our Lady of Lourdes Hospitality Kitchen, cooking and serving meals. In addition, she volunteered as a Stephen Minister with Epiphany Lutheran Church to provide Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.

Pam was an avid watcher of youth sports, as long as one of her great nieces or great nephews was on the team. You could always catch her in the bleachers cheering loudly in support of those kids. She did her best to attend every dance recital and school music performance as well.

Whether you knew her as Sergeant Butler, Pam, Pammy, or P, you knew you were dealing with a kind, caring, giving person of the highest moral character. She had a great sense of humor, a heart for service, was incredibly organized and was terrible at math. Any time spent with her was well spent and she will be missed terribly by those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Myrtle Butler and her brother Charles Butler Sr. She is survived by her siblings Lila Schmidt (Charles Morehead), Thomas Butler Jr. (Cookie), David Butler (Grace), Christine Mills (John), Jeffery Butler (Deborah), many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Parkcliffe Memory Care Community and Residential Hospice for their wonderful, loving care of Pam.

Visitation will take place at Holland-Springfield Walker Funeral Home on Sunday April 28, 2024 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Epiphany Lutheran Church on Monday at 11 AM.
