On the brisk Spring morning of May 27th 2021, Oscar E. Mancilla drew his final breath, passing on into life's final and greatest adventure. Born to Oscar and Hortencia Mancilla on July 11th, 1953. Oscar is survived by his Spouse: Shirleen Barbara Ross; Children: Adriane Yvette Mancilla-Lewis, Christopher Oscar Mancilla, and Robert Damian Mancilla; Sisters: Mercedes Lillian Vazquez, Patricia Gloria Mancilla, and Graciella Margarita Varela; Blood Brother: Ray Michael Varela. Oscar was an extraordinary man whose charm, wit, and humor granted him the ability to ingratiate himself with anyone lucky enough to be in his presence. He laughed loud, loved intensely, and would sacrifice anything without a second thought for those he called family. Oscar was an avid car enthusiast, who spent much of his youth behind the wheel, or under the hood of his cherished Chevy Malibu. You could often catch him cruising down the streets in his pristine vehicle in the company of his motor club. Other cars would come and go in his lifetime, but everyone knew about his first loved Malibu. Oscar was also a, to-the-bone, Raiders fan who bled Black and Silver. Never one to miss a game, he relished the games played against teams that were favored by family, to taunt and jab playfully with them, as they likewise did with him. He loved spending time with the love of his life, Shirleen, making their famous award-winning salsa, and spicy Jambalaya to enjoy during games. Though the stars were against them, Oscar being a Raiders fan, and Shirleen a Packers fan, they found a way to make it work. Oscar's love for his children was boundless and deep, as was his pride for their accomplishments. A big child at heart, his children would delight in his ability to make games of most things and be drawn in by his jokes and laughter. Quick to learn about his children's interests, you could find him playing games with them in fantasy worlds on the computer or, more often than not, content to just cheering them on in the background, with a big grin on his face. His thoughts never strayed far from his children, be them near or far, to his last day. Oscar and Shirleen experienced many adventures over the course of their nearly 30 years. The bond, love, and passion that they shared was beyond parallel. Oscar was a man driven by pride, but was never too proud to do what needed to be done. He was a man driven by ambition, but would never let that stifle his ability to make his loved ones happy. His greatest quality was the bottomless love he had in his heart, and for that, we were all thankful. Rest in Peace.
