Nelva I. Wheat

Nelva I. Wheat age 93, of Toledo, Ohio, went to be with the Lord June 14, 2011 at Waterford Commons. She was born in Plasky County, Kentucky December 16, 1917 to Vernon and Nannie Price. Nelva and her husband raised their family in the Trilby area, where she was a housewife and loving mother. She also was a longtime member of the First Alliance Church, formally Toledo Gospel Tabernacle, where she taught Sunday school . They then relocated to Florida in 1978 and in 1989 Nelva came back to Toledo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Wheat; son, Robert Wheat; 3 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Wheat of Toledo and John (Lee) Wheat of Cape Coral, Fl.; grandchildren, Kim Farnham, Kris Miller, Ken Wheat Jr. and Rob Wheat; 4 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Marie Robinson and brother, George Price. Visitation for Nelva will be Friday, June 17 from 4 PM-8 PM at H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd (419)473-1301. Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:00 AM in the funeral home.
