Murel Kontak

Murel Kontak, age 90, of Walbridge, died November 17, 2024 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, She was born April 21, 1934 in Oregon, OH to Mr. & Mrs. George (Laura) Groll. She was a 1953 graduate of Clay High School. She grew up on Groll Poultry Farm in Oregon. Later she travelled extensively by RV throughout the states, including once to Alaska. She also worked with Habitat for Humanity in Florida and Ohio. She was a homemaker and in the 70’s/80’s worked in retail for jewelry companies and as a courier driver. Lastly, she enjoyed going to the casino with her sister and watching her bird feeders.

Survived by her sons, William Carr of Toledo and Douglas (Linda) Carr of Walbridge. grandchildren, Tonya (Allen) Plummer, Cody (Barbara) Carr, Cory (Laura) Carr and Casey Carr; great-grandchildren, Drew, Damon and Dylan Plummer, Grady and Summit Carr; great-great grandson, Declan Plummer; and twin sister, Berle Chesher

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Kontak; daughter, Kathleen Carr; grandson, Christopher Fisher and brother, Gene Groll.

Friends will be received at The Robert Shank, Sr. Chapel at Sunrise Life Celebrations, Walbridge (701 N. Main St.) on Monday November 25, 2024 from 3-7 PM, where a Service will be held at 7 PM. Burial, Lake Twp. Cemetery. A special thanks to Lake Twp. EMS and the entire staff at St. Vincent ER. These people are truly amazing.
