Mr. Jack Foster Johnson

Jack Johnson, 56, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 28, 2008 in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. Born on April 27, 1951 to Jack and Letha Johnson. He graduated from Whitmer in 1969 and served in the U.S. Army Reserves.On June 25, 1971 he married his high school sweetheart Peggy Lee. He was employed at GM Power Train for 31 years, retiring in 2001. He was currently employed with Feller Finch and Associates. As an active member of the Sylvania Moose Lodge, Jack served on the board of officers and loved playing Santa at the children's Christmas party. He enjoyed bowling and scored several 300 games. An avid golfer he served as treasurer of his VFW league. He was also a member at Whiteford Valley G.C. where he shot his hole in one.Jack was preceded in death by his parents, niece, Amie Gehring, mother-in-law, Mary Ann Lee, brother-in-law Roger Lee.He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 36 years, Peggy Johnson, daughter Jackie (Tom) LaScola, grandpa's best buddy, Brendan LaScola, brother, Larry (Peggy) Johnson, sister, Kathy (Mike) Rachuba, nephews, Jordan, Jack, William, nieces, Shayla, Jade, father-in-law, Jerry Lee, sister-in-law, Carolyn (Bill) Lee-Wagner.Jack touched so many lives with his enthusiastic personality. He will be greatly missed by his huge circle of friends and family.Visitation will be held at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd (at Alexis) 419-473-1301 on Thursday, April 3 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, April 4, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm where funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 5.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of NW Ohio or the Cherry Street Mission.
