Our beloved son, Mitchell Ulysses Sponseller passed away suddenly on January 23, 2021. He was only 24 years old.MItchie the Kid was born May 28th, 1996 in Toledo OH. He was just barely born at St Vincent Hospital and delivered within minutes of arriving, as if someone gave him the green light and he could not wait to start living. He was so alert and focused on people from his very first day with his streak of blonde hair and bright blue eyes. He was always a happy smiling baby and squealed with delight when he heard or saw his brother. He adored his big brother, and they grew up playing all day together, they were inseparable. He grew up a happy smiling kid, a kids kid, and was so energetic and eager for fun all the time. School interrupted Mitchells days of playing and he was never crazy about school from day one but despite his best efforts he learned quite a lot. He was always listening and learning even when he did not seem to be paying attention and what he learned did not always show on tests or in his grades much to the frustration of all his poor teachers and parents. He did not like being still and learning from books or lectures, he was a creative, but he loved being with his friends and teachers and entertaining them with his word play, jokes, and antics. He played some baseball and tried football in grade school, but he really enjoyed going to his brothers baseball games and getting to hang out with the team in the dugout. He graduated from Start High School in 2014 an extraordinarily strong, intelligent, sensitive, and caring young man with an amazing sense of humor and sharp wit. He was a big sports fan especially of Toronto Canada teams. He loved baseball and he was a Blue Jay fan, he loved Hockey and he was a Maple Leaf fan, and he loved basketball and was a Raptor fan. He was a gamer and enjoyed playing on Xbox or his gaming computer. He loved animals and recently adopted a pair of cats from the Humane Society. He loved all kinds of music, especially lyrically clever music. He could be heard listening (or singing in the shower) to anything from Eminem and Tech9, to Slipknot or to Hamilton. When he drove up to see you you could hear his music over his car. Mitch began working with his Dad 4 years ago for Mondelez and was on a very promising career path in sales. He took pride in his work and developed a strong work ethic. Mitchells greatest joy was bringing happiness and laughter to others. He would do anything to make his special people happy and enjoyed meeting new people. His heart was kind and open. He was always there with a giant bear hug if you needed one or just a great big smile that filled you with warmth. It is with tremendous sorrow that we have to say good-bye to our beautiful son, but our hearts will be filled with treasured memories of him forever. We are so proud and grateful to have been part of his life.Mitchell is survived by his father, Jeff Sponseller, his mother Michelle Sponseller, his brothers: Mike and Grant; Sisters: Lily, Lexy, and Lucy.
