Minnie Lee Austin

Minnie Lee Austin, age 82, passed away on February 19, 2025, in Toledo, Ohio. She was born on August 24, 1943, in Talladega, Alabama, the daughter of Claude Palmer and Bertha Driver.

Minnie spent her young adult years working at Libbey Glass, and singing in the church choir, for many years, at Corner Stone Church. She also sang part time in an R&B group. One of Minnies’ special gifts was being an interior decorator. She loved helping people turn a house into a home. Minnie had many interests but her favorite thing was to be a mother to her only child, Charles Austin, who she loved dearly.

Left to cherish her memories, include her son, Charles; sister, Pearl Humphrey; nephew, Edward Swain; niece, Gwen Nance, Sarna Palmer, and a lot of beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Bertha and Claude Palmer; sisters, Claudia Swain, Eva Nance; brother, James Palmer.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 pm, with a funeral service to follow, at The Ray Neville Chapel at Sunrise Cremations and Funerals, 7438 Airport HWY, Holland, Ohio 43528.
