Mildred Betty Copelin

Mildred Betty Copelin, 87, passed away at Toledo Hospital on Friday, November 22, 2013. A lifelong resident of Toledo, Ohio, she was born on November 30, 1925 to Thomas George Gray and Mildred Louise Schorling. She graduated from Whitmer High School in 1943 and remained affiliated with that school throughout her life through her children and grandchildren all Whitmer graduates. Betty enjoyed reading, gardening, camping, fishing, and traveling. Wherever she went, those she met along the way became immediate friends. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 55 years, Vernon Douglas Copelin, and her son, James William Copelin. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Peggie (Gary) Dolch and Mary (Tim) Branson as well as her grandsons, Andrew James Dolch, James Christian Branson, and David Douglas Branson. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 7 in the Mausoleum Chapel at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park (Central at Talmadge) at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the Leukemia Society of Northwest Ohio, 5700 Brecksville Rd., 3rd Floor, Independence, Ohio 44131 or to The American Cancer Society, 740 Commerce Dr., Suite B, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
