Michaelene M. Barret

Michaelene M. “Mikie” Barret, 76, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, November 7, 2023, at Brookdale Senior Living Care Facility of Bowling Green. She was born December 14, 1946, in Toledo, to the late Oscar C. and Sophia “Sophie” B. (Swaciak) Wallace. She married David R. Barret on December 28, 1968.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, David R. Barret; parents, Oscar & Sophie Wallace; Sisters Judith B. “Judy” (Wallace) Gladieux; & Deborah C. Wallace; and Brother James M. Wallace.

She will be missed and remembered by her children, David J. Barret of Toledo; Paula C. D. Barret-Corson (Jorgé Alfaro), of Toledo; Dennis J. Barret of Sandusky; and grandchildren, Deborah S. C. Corson of Toledo; Devin M. C. Corson, (fiancé Hannah M. Palmer) of Toledo; David J. C. Corson of Toledo; Jamie M. (Jimmy) Young of Sandusky; and her best friend, Sharon L. Beck of Toledo.

Michaelene was a 1964 graduate of Springfield High School. She was a devoted and life-long parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Toledo.

Family and Friends may visit from 12-7 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Walker Funeral Home: Springfield-Holland Chapel, 7438 Airport HWY, Holland, OH, 43528. Memories and Tributes will be shared from 5-6 p.m. with the recitation of the Angelus and Rosary to follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 6149 Hill AVE, Toledo, OH, 43615, with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Endowment Fund; or Hospice of NW Ohio.
