Michael Eugene Muckensturm

Michael Eugene Muckensturm, 65, of Toledo, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Northwest Ohio Developmental Center.Michael was born with severe autism before the term was as familiar as it is today. He attended Larc Lane School and graduated from the Jay Shuer School in 1980. After that, Michael worked for Lott Industries, assembling parts for Ford Motor Company. He was courageous and strong, given his challenges.Michael enjoyed the guitar, horseback riding at Vail Meadows Equestrian Center, dinner with his parents, trips to see his family, flipping through magazines, and regular visits from friends.He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Ana. His sister Margaret Katona (Eli) and nephew Daniel survive him. Having Michael as an uncle was the best role model a child could have. He instilled in his nephew a sense of compassion, unconditional love, a fondness for horses, and service to others.A private burial at St. Michaels in the Hills will take place. A Memorial Service will be held at the Northwest Ohio Developmental Center on Wednesday May 15th at Noon.
