Michael J. Jones

Michael J. Jones, age 79 of Toledo, Ohio, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. He was born in Toledo on September 28, 1930 to Michael Sr. and Antoinette Jones. Michael retired after 38 years from Jeep. In his spare time he enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling and gambling for fun. He was proud to have earned his pilots license. Mike was also proud of the three houses he built, He had achieved perfect games in bowling and took first place in a school bus rodeo. He was a member of Eagles #197. Mike was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during 1948 to 1952.Michael was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Judy; sons, Terry, Timothy (Colleen) and Chris Jonesy; daughter, Nancy (Mark) Matoska; step-children, Christine (Rusty) Weills, John and Joe (Sandy) Refi; grandchildren, Chandra, Justin, and Kristine, Amanda and Kevin; great grandchildren, Nathaniel and Michael; brothers, Carl and Charles; sisters, Delores Poston and Dorothy.Visitation for Michael will be at H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd (at Alexis) 419-473-1301 on Sunday, August 8, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Monday, August 9 at 10:00 am in St. Clement Catholic Church. Internment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
