Mike was a proud graduate of Whitmer High School and later completed a four-year Electrical Apprenticeship to earn his journeyman license. He dedicated 40 years to his career as an IBEW journeyman Inside Wireman electrician, following in the footsteps of his father, brother, cousin, and grandfather. He worked for multiple employers throughout his career eventually retiring from RMF Nooter as a General Foreman in 2014. He also served on the examining committee, helping to identify and classify new electricians entering the industry, a role that reflected his deep commitment to his trade.
Outside of work, Mike had a passion for the outdoors. He grew up fishing for Pike and Bass in Canada and Michigan, camping on Sandusky Bay with his family and cousins, and later found joy in gardening. A devoted Michigan Football fan, Mike also loved spending time with his dogs, Chewy and Daisy, watching birds, attending concerts, and being with family and friends, especially at ETs.
Mike shared an extraordinary bond with his high school sweetheart, Annie, who he described as the light of his life. Married for many beautiful years, Annie was his navigator both in the car and in life. Their love story remains an inspiration to those who knew them.
Mike is preceded in death by his loving wife, Annie; his parents, Delbert and Gloria Husted; and his sister, Sherry Billy. He is survived by his cherished daughters, Heather (Rob) Craft and Brandy (Scott) Yaist; his beloved grandson, Henry; his brother, John (Blanca) Husted; his sister, Debbie Stahl; his dear girlfriend, Regina Hartz; and his sweet puppy, Daisy.
Mike was so very loved and will be terribly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
