On February 3, 2026 the Lord took Mindi Wilson home to be with Him. She is now free of all pain, illnesses, limitations and is with her grandfather, John Powers, who she loved and adored, and he spoiled her rotten! He was an amazing grandfather to her, and they shared a special bond. They are blessed together with a reunion in heaven.
February 17th, 1973 Mindi came into the world to meet her best friend and mother, Beki Jacobs (Ken) and father Gene Wilson (Karen).
What a life she had! She was a blast to live with and hang out with!! She had a hilarious sense of humor, teasing everyone around her, and a HUGE capacity to love. If you were experiencing illness, pain or anything, you needed to be prayed for, she insisted. She would cry for you and laugh for and with you. Her personality was bigger than her wee tiny self!!
Mindi was an exceptional person, full of fun, love and always wanting to let people know how much she cared about them. She mastered how to use computers, IPads, her smart phone and loved calling family and staff, constantly. She loved calling everyone!
She blessed the lives of many people with the exceptional loving experience of Down Syndrome for the last 52 years, 11 months and 17 days.
She enjoyed collecting bibles and devotionals and had a selection of well over 300. She would read and journal from them for hours at a time. As a member of Maumee United Methodist Church, she loved attending every Sunday, and always had to show everyone her latest bible or devotional. She was so loved by this church and the members, and she loved her peeps in the congregation. She walked around the church like she owned it and always had something to talk to the pastors about and sometimes was known for saying "lets pray"!
Until recently she was enjoying Day Hab at Connecting People & Places and loved her staff there. She loved all the activities and their care at her new apartment.
Connecting People & Places kept her so active and engaged that she was living her best life ever!
Left to remember her and miss her love, laughter and constant phone calls are her mother, Beki Jacobs, step-father that loved her like his own, Ken Jacobs; father and stepmother Gene & Karen Wilson; brother and loving antagonizer since they were little, Gene Wilson; sister, bestie and another warrior, Kristi Steiber and brother-in-law, Jason Steiber ; stepbrother, Mark Jacobs; stepsister, Beth (Josh) Knack; stepsister, Callie (Brian) Kozakiewicz, another favorite person that helped her to live her "best life ever"; grandmother and another warrior in her life, Joanne Powers: Uncle, Jeff (Kim) Powers; nephew, Tristin Wilson; nieces, Skyler Hunt, Paige Wilson, Brianna Schunk, Lexi Wilson, Layla Wilson, step nephews, John Knack, James Knack, Alex Phenicie, Anthony & Camden Kozakiewicz, Jovin Jacobs; step nieces Allison Knack, Ashlynn Jacobs, Eva Rose & Ella Kozakiewicz.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, another warrior for her, John Powers. Also, her step grandfather and game partner, Steve Sigrist, doting uncle that spoiled her from birth, Rick Powers.
Mindi was full of laughter, love and forever happy. There was nothing shy about this girl, she loved everyone. She sure wouldn't want anyone standing around and crying, she would want everyone laughing and celebrating her life and joking!
Please come to celebrate the joy & life of Mindi Wilson on her 53rd birthday, February 17th, at 9:30, services to be 11:00, with a luncheon to follow. So come and celebrate her birthday, her life and her abundant love!
